ActiPatch and Pain. Why and How it Works.
Chronic pain and you
When you have chronic pain—like osteoarthritis of the knee—your nerves are constantly sending pain signals. There are 2 problems causing your pain: 1) The loss of cartilage from “wear and tear”, leading to bone-on-bone contact and pain/inflammation. 2) The faulty pain signaling that your nerves learn from sending pain signals for too long.
ActiPatch works on this faulty signalling: When nerves in your painful knee constantly send pain signals over a long period of time, the nerves “learn” to “over-react”, like developing an allergy. During activities like walking or bending, instead of communicating normally with your brain, the nerves in your spine “over-react” and falsely send pain signals to the brain—and deliver “real” pain signals much more strongly than they normally would.
ActiPatch helps your nerves “unlearn” pain
ActiPatch helps retrain your nerves—teaching them to send pain signals normally again. Using rapidly pulsing electromagnetic waves that are low enough so you cannot feel them, but high enough to provide benefits, ActiPatch “teaches” your “over-reactive” nerves to signal correctly again. And, because the electrical energy from the device is wireless, you don’t need to attach any electrodes—you just put ActiPatch directly on your skin or over bandaging, hold it in place with adhesive or a wrap and let it work!
The clinical trial of patients with osteoarthritis of the knee that was evaluated by the FDA indicated that ActiPatch use:
- Significantly reduced patient-reported pain levels
- Significantly increased patient-reported physical functionality/overall well-being
- Significantly reduced the amount of NSAIDs/pain medication they were taking AND, ActiPatch has no known adverse side effects. It is safe for diabetics and elderly people.
Easy to use!
ActiPatch is easy to use. Just turn the device on, place the loop over the area in which you need the pain relief, and hold it in place—you can use medical adhesive (included in package), a cloth wrap or attach it to the first layer of your clothing (a tight pair of pants, for example).
Wear it 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You can wear it while you sleep and while working out (just don’t submerge ActiPatch in water for long, like in the bath, or a pool).
ActiPatch FAQ: Keeping the device in place
ActiPatch is cleared for the treatment of general pain in the UK.
In the US, ActiPatch is cleared for pain related to osteoarthritis of the knee and plantar faciitis.
Turning the device off
